A school counselor helps students evaluate their own personal interests, abilities and talents they develop reasonable goals for their education and ultimately their careers.
Educational and career counselors in schools use a variety of techniques to overcome the problems associated with student personal affairs, behavioral and social sciences. These techniques include the administration of assessment tests skills and interests, and personal counseling sessions with their students. They are also responsible for classes in conflict resolution and prevention of drugs and alcohol are included.
Consultants who work with students in elementary and secondary schools to assess students’ problems, strengths, or, where appropriate, special needs. They closely observe how they play and interact with young children in the school and talk with teachers and parents to ensure that students receive the best education possible with the available resources.
